  • Billie-Jo Dunbar lol Reaching for straws with ALL the things that you can find wrong with Obama, you pick on the lady for not wanting to look presidential on a plane. I should see how awful I looked getting off the plane. I love you guys.

  • Amber Sellers starting a sentence with "when white people say" IS the epitomy of a racist statement. a picture of the first lady which is out of the norm because of her apparel (for whatever reason, not arguing that point) is the exact definition of what one would call a stereotype. we have memories of prim and proper, not shorts and a tank. you are reading too far into this and stating racism where its not intended.

  • Dean Marston Jr. IT would be like the the queen coming out of buckingham place with a shower cap and a house coat.....aint gonna happin
  • Jeremy R. Cort look. i know all of you personally. i know who IS and IS NOT racist. casual racism is still racism. while this particular post did not have the phrase "hoochi mama" in it, the overall tone of all comments that have been made regarding michelle obama, by EVERYONE in the church are racist and disrespectful at best. you ALL should be ashamed of yourselves for supporting this denigrating behavior.

YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CHRISTIANS! ACT CHRIST LIKE FOR GOD SAKE!!!
  • Amber Sellers I just feel you are taking their intentions out of context. No one here is or was or intedended for any words/pictures to come by as racist.
  • Jeremy R. Cort the intentions are to rank obama down at every turn. this is hardly the first picture posted in the last 2 months.. or year and a half that i have been back. i was quiet till october about a lot of it. so don't lecture me about the "spirit" of this particular post when you and i know damn well what the intent was.
  • Dean Marston Jr. no one has to put obama down....he does it for himself......
  • Amber Sellers And its really interesting you are basically calling dad racist for posting this picture. The last i knew his sister, our aunt is african american. His daughter (yep, me) hispanic. CLEARLY racism pouring out on this post. (That, that last sentence was sarcasm)
  • Jeremy R. Cort ok, deny it, ignore it w/e .. staying silent about it IS SUPPORTING IT.
  • Amber Sellers No one is ranking obama down because of skin color. More like their beliefs in the lack of duties they feel he should have completed by now. Not everything is about color, we have moved out of the 60s dude
  • Amber Sellers Grasping at straws. Until someone says a straight up racial comment, dont assume. We know what that does.
  • Jeremy R. Cort NO we have not. travel some. color is still an issue amber. people are more comfortable treating brown people like crap because they are brown. no other reason. as for straight up racial, is "hoochi mama" racist enough for you? as for assumptions, i know i look like an ass a lot of the time. her is the thing tho. i will ALWAYS be on the right side of human rights. ALWAYS. it is NEVER ok to be even casually racist or sexist or classist. it is an old way of thinking that is still hanging around and tearing our communities apart. bigoted behavior is WRONG!
  • Jeremy R. Cort some light reading... http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/hate-crime/2010
    www.fbi.gov
Crime reported to the FBI involve those motivated by biases based on race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity/national origin, and disability.
  • Amber Sellers You yourself made the ONLY racist comment in this post. Yes racism is an issue, but we have come a long way. Its not the way it used to be.
  • Jeremy R. Cort mby im just old fashioned but 7 white men raping a gay black kid to death is kinda bad. THIS, these snide little comments like "hoochi mama", giggling about it and forwarding it on is fostering the bigoted attitude. its permission for these behaviors to flourish. and im not talking about just this post or only racism in general. HATRED IS NOT AN AMERICAN FAMILY VALUE!
  • Jeremy R. Cort so sit there... all of you.. tell yourselves its ok to be this way... rationalize it... here is a picture of what you have to look forward too.

Employers may now add off-hour canvassing, sign waving, and phone banking to your job description.
  • Jeremy R. Cort because being on the wrong side of human rights is cool!!!
  • Amber Sellers Those 7 white peeps could have been asians raping a russian. Its not about color, its about the act itself. The term hoochi mama could be used against a person of any race. This instance, (although i am not a supporter of that pictures words) it was intended for a person of brown color. Had it been Hilary Clinton, would you have said it was racist? I cant debate the point of hatred not being a family value, thats valid.
  • Amber Sellers Although intended for the person the words were not used particulary to color
  • Jeremy R. Cort amber, 2 things i linked the fbi hate crime data so you could see that brown people are still the largest targeted group in america, as for hoochi mama, when was the last time you heard someone white called a hoochi mama? none the less a first lady...
  • Jeremy R. Cort have any idea where this quote comes from?

"The hatred for our children and their future is growing and is being fueled every single day. Stay firm in your convictions. Keep loving your heritage and keep witnessing to others that there is a better way than a war torn, violent, wicked, socialist, new world order. That way is the Christian way - law and order - love of family - love of nation. These are the principles of western Christian civilization. There is a war to destroy these things. Pray that our people see the error of their ways and regain a sense of loyalty. Repent America! Be faithful my fellow believers"
  • Rocky Robitaille I also disliked Carter WAIT he was white wow i must really be racist
  • Jeremy R. Cort you diddnt post several pictures of carters wife over a period of 2 years talking about how trashy she was.
  • Jeremy R. Cort if i had done ANYTHING like this as a child you guys would have destroyed me! you raised me better than this... better than hate!
  • Jeremy R. Cort why now is it all of the sudden ok to be bigoted?
  • Amber Sellers Just because michelle obama is black doesnt mean she is being targeted because of that. This picture was posted to depict the ACT. WHEN WHEN is the last time you saw the leader of our countries wife wearing such a wardrobe? Its the act jeremy.
  • Jeremy R. Cort amber, when was the last time the media payed so much attention to a world leader?
  • Amber Sellers The act, pointed out by dad, (his beliefs) is not due to the fact that she is black. She didnt choose jean short is a tank because she is black. This is the point im making, she as the presidents wife who is supposed to be a leader chose this outfit. Most say she shouldnt dress like this. Thaaaats the point dads making. This outfit isnt a social norm forthe presidents wife. Period point blank.
  • Jeremy R. Cort who gives a crap how she dresses. if she is dressed pretty people rail about how their tax dollars paid for it. if she is dressed like this people wail she is not pretty... some people cant be pleased no matter what.
  • Amber Sellers With that said i dont care what shes wearing, no one intended to be racist, and im off to bed because the point is mute.
  • Jeremy R. Cort k... well in august of 2009 at the grand canyon what was she supposed to wear? a parka? go to bed tho... because you are super right here. you won and stuff..

while this picture BY ITSELF was not racist or denigrating, i am speaking to the overall tone of all pictures and comments made about michelle obama over the last 2 years by all the fundamentalist christians we know and love.
